More InfoTheseus, legendary hero of Athens, made great journeys and carried out many brave deeds, but he is best remembered for his battle with the Minotaur - a savage monster with a man's body and a bull's head. After King Minos of Crete defeated King Aegeus of Athens, he demanded that the Athenians send seven young men and seven young maidens every year to Crete as a sacrifice to the man-eating Minotaur. Aegeus's son, Theseus, volunteered to go as one of the seven young men and kill the fearsome Minotaur. The beast lived in a maze called the Labyrinth from which no one had ever escaped. It is here that Theseus slew him, retracing his path to find his way out again using a ball of string. Includes club. Reviews| No reviews for this product.
