Unaware that Obi-Wan has stowed away on her ship, Padme flies to Mustafar accompanied by C-3PO. But Anakin cannot be reasoned with; he lashes out at Padme and engages Obi-Wan in a fierce lightsaber duel. After the duel Obi-Wan walks away, leaving Anakin gravely wounded and lying on the lava shoreline. Emperor Palpatine flies to Mustafar with his security force of shock troopers, led by Commander Thire, to rescue Anakin and bring him to a center where he will be changed into Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith.
